"Once your hedgehog is restored to health, and before it is ready to be released, you should house it in a rabbit hutch, provided the weather is warm enough. Even the smallest rabbit hutches on the market are big enough for one hedgehog. Alternatively you can make your own hedgehog house (see ppp. 58-9). Whichever you choose, place the house on grass if possible so the hedgehog can dig in the soil. Ark runs designed for rabbits are ideal. Remember, hedgehogs can climb so make sure the run either has a top or that the sides are curved over at the top." |
