2006 OFFICIAL RESULTS- First of all well done to all of you brave people participating in the hot weather!!!



Congratulations to Denise Meldrum and Tarran Bay for winning this year's Marathon in a time of 02:10.29. From second place last year you must be very happy!! Also congratulations goes to Haggai Chepkwony for being the first runner home in his first ever Man V Horse marathon - he ran in a time of 02:19:16. Both Hilary Cuming riding Taurus of Grangeway (02:10:30 so very close!) and Carly Ann Evans riding Tabu (02:18:48) also did extremely well. The second runner home was Mark Palmer was only 4 minutes behing Haggai with a time of 02:23:25. There will be lots more photos uploaded as soon as possible so watch this space!!!

Finally Green Events and Motor Neurone Disease say a huge THANK YOU for putting your money to a good cause and also lighting up our small town with the illuminous wrist bands! We will let you know how much was raised asap.

This is the first time that Huw has entered the race and what a year to enter with the prize money being so high. His winning time of 02:05:19 was 2 minutes 17 seconds faster than the first horse home. Running for Bedford and County AC he has been involved in running for 10 years recently entering and coming in fourth in the London marathon with a time of 02:15:49 seconds. He is currently the South of England Cross Country Champion and is sponsored by Puma.

This is a race of 22 miles and now in its 27th year!!! It is run over a spectacular course where runners and horses compete against each other.

In 2000 there was only 90 seconds between the first horse and the first runner. There is also a relay team event (3 per team) and a special Lord Sutch Memorial Award.

The race starts from the square in Llanwrtyd at 11.00 a.m. and finishes at approximately 1.00 p.m. at the Victoria Wells Forest Log Cabins.
