We've added a new feature, Taking a Plank
For A Walk.
You will, by now, most likely have read of the alleged
crop circle painting from 1913, since the story has been doing the
rounds since the start of the year. If you're not familiar
with it, click here
to get the details. Andreas Muller's
analysis is also worth a read (scroll down in that link for
English translation). We have to say, though, that the whole
thing sounds like bobbins to us.
We've also added and amended links.
11th August 2005
We've added a new feature, Stunted Crop
At Garsington.
10th August 2005
In our latest circular rovings, we've noticed the imminent harvest.
Can another season be over already? Is it sad that we measure our
lives with crop circles? Mayhap preferable to coffee-spoons.
No doubt there'll still be another few formations, in the coming weeks;
for us, though, we're saddened that what some people are already considering
a season
finale is a rehash of what was considered last year's
season finale. Check the usual sites for updates on the last few
circles. We won't list them again here, since we listed them all
a few updates down.
13th July 2005
We have to admit that we're disappointed that nobody responded
to our request (posted on this site on our News page on 8th March 2004)
for photographs, taken either from Stonehenge or from the roadside, of
the July 1996 Julia Set formation. Here's why.
9th July 2005
We've given the
site a bit of a spruce-up, partly because we're aware of the fact that
we've not updated for almost a year and therefore want to remind readers
that we're still here, and partly in anticipation of some new articles.
We'll announce them as and when they're ready. Yes, we know we said
that last time...
In other circles-related news, we think it's been a pretty good
season so far. Some good formations, some rubbish ones; business
as usual, in other words. For details of the latest formations,
check the database sites; Crop
Circle Research, Crop Circle Connector etc.
While we're on the subject, there's a a new 'latest formations'
site, which we think is good and worth a mention here; http://www.ukcropcircles.co.uk.
Have a look.
21st August 2004
A note of acknowledgement
and of gratitude to those amongst you who ask 'When is is the site going
to be updated?' Be patient. It will happen. We have a number
of articles in the works, but we won't put them online til they're ready.
Which means when we're happy with them, and when they've been through our
various discernment-filters.
We've been too busy thinking 'hmmm...' at what's going on in the
fields.
Bear with us. It's on its way. You know it'll be worth
it.
5th May 2004
After a month of wondering
'well, where are they, then?', the first formation reports of 2004 are starting
to dribble in; a single c.20' circle at North Canning Down, Wiltshire,
and a rather more complex design at Pegsdon, Hertfordshire (exact configuration
unknown), both in oilseed rape. Hurrah for that; here's to
another four months of sleepless nights and muddy boots...
6th April 2004
We've just joined
Paul Vigay's Crop Circle Webring, hence the graphic on our index page.
Rather serendipitously, we're site 93 in the ring, which should bring a
smile to the faces of any Thelemite croppies out there (are there
any Thelemite croppies out there? Does such a breed exist?).
8th March 2004
We've done a brief,
yet melancholy, makeover. We've also added a hit counter, so we
can see how many of you are actually reading the stuff we post. Regular
visitors should be warned that they run the risk of attracting the attention
of men in black suits and with no eyebrows.
A request for assistance; does anybody out there have photos taken
from the roadside (or from Stonehenge) of the July 1996 Stonehenge Julia
Set formation? Can you please forward copies
to us? (jpeg, preferably). We need them for a future article
we're planning. Note that we're not looking for photos from inside
the formation, just from a distance. Many thanks.

January 2004
A new feature
has been added, Crop Circles:
Evidence Of Shoddy Research, wherein Poppy Amersham takes Nicholas
Montigiani's Crop Circles: Evidence Of A Cover-Up outside, and gives it
a thorough kicking.
24th October 2003
We've added two new
items; Hold On A Minute...
and Some Things We Hate About Cerealogy.
3rd September 2003
The belatedness of
this next item can, we think, be excused by two factors: it's sincerity,
and the fact that we've only been online a matter of weeks.
We were very saddened to
learn a few months back that, due to ill-health, John Sayer has decided to
cease publication of The Cereologist. Together with SC,
The Cereologist was always our favourite circles-related
publication, and we know we'll miss it. John will continue to run
the magazine as a website, however, at http://www.sayer.abel.co.uk.
Have a look; he's already put some new articles on there. Many
thanks, John, for all the years of stimulating reading; we wish you well
in the future.
Friday 29th August 2003
We've added a new
article, End Of Season
Barge Inn Crop Circle Blues.
Tuesday 19th
August 2003
We've gone through
the site with a fine-tooth stomper and corrected any errors we've noticed
(it's startling how different sites can look on your computer at home
when they're your baby, compared to how they look when you unleash them
online). Which makes this update a bit of a non-update, to anybody
who didn't notice said errors in the first place. Whatever.
As you were.
Thursday 14th August 2003
Since we've only
just launched the site, there's no news other than the fact that we're
now online. But you know that already. Have a look around,
then come back when some time has passed. We freely admit that the
site is looking a little bare at the moment, but we have other stuff to
put on when we get the chance.
Oh, and if you're lucky, you might still be able to catch some crop
circles before the combines move in...
